Amazon returns inspection in Germany
Reviewed case by caseKnow the condition of your returned inventory
Have returned units opened, photographed and classified in Germany against an agreed written checklist—so you can decide what should be resold, reworked, forwarded or reviewed next.
- Written checklist first
- Photo evidence when agreed
- Clear condition categories
- No disposal without approval
Before inventory arrives
Define what should be checked before the box is opened
A useful inspection is based on an agreed question—not a vague promise to check everything. SellerEU reviews the product type, quantity, known return reasons, evidence required and desired next action before confirming the receiving and inspection scope.
Do not redirect returned inventory until the case, receiving details and inspection basis have been confirmed in writing.
Typical returns situations
When documented inspection helps
Condition is unknown
Returned units need to be opened and visually reviewed before you decide whether they can move again.
Evidence is needed
You need agreed photos of packaging, labels, accessories or visible damage for an operational decision.
Units need classification
Stock needs a consistent sellable, review or damaged category based on your approved checklist.
The next action is unclear
Inspection results should inform relabelling, repacking, forwarding, reinbound preparation or a separate review.
Inspection scope
A repeatable check for every agreed unit
The written quote states whether checks apply per unit, per sample, per carton or only to visible arrival condition. Technical testing is never implied.
Reference matching
Returned units are matched to the provided SKU, FNSKU or case reference when those identifiers are available.
Visual inspection
Packaging, product surface, labels and included components are checked only against the agreed checklist.
Photo documentation
Required views and visible findings are photographed when evidence is included in the scope.
Condition classification
Each agreed unit or sample is assigned to the approved categories and exceptions are documented.

Prepare the checklist
Information that makes an inspection useful
The clearer the expected product and decision criteria, the more consistent the inspection can be.
- ASIN, FNSKU, merchant SKU or another reliable product reference
- Expected product, variation, quantity and included accessories
- Known Amazon return reason or customer comment, if available
- Required photo angles and evidence standard
- Approved condition categories and decision rules
- Desired next action for each category or exception
Transparent pricing logic
A written quote based on the inspection depth
Opening one sample is different from documenting every unit. The quote separates the work that applies to your case.

Frequently asked questions
Answers before returned inventory is sent
Will every returned unit be inspected?
Only when per-unit inspection is included in the written quote. Sample checks, carton checks and per-unit checks are different scopes.
What photographs will I receive?
The agreed photo views are defined before work starts. They may include packaging, labels, visible damage, accessories or representative group photos depending on the case.
Can SellerEU decide whether a unit is sellable?
SellerEU can classify visible condition against categories approved by you. The seller remains responsible for marketplace, safety and resale decisions.
Do you test electronics or product functionality?
Not as part of a standard visual inspection. Any feasible functional check must be precisely defined and quoted separately.
Can returned stock be relabelled or repacked afterwards?
Yes, when feasible and separately approved. We first report the inspection result, then proceed only within the written rework scope.
Can damaged stock be disposed of automatically?
No. Disposal is never automatic. It requires explicit instructions, feasibility confirmation and any applicable documentation or charges.
Can the inventory be forwarded after inspection?
Yes, when the destination, packaging, labels and transport basis have been agreed. Forwarding is quoted separately from inspection.
